It features an orchestral soundtrack composed by Ohtani Kow who has also composed the scores for a lot of anime. It tells the story of Wander who wishes to resurrect a girl important to him named Mono. A mythical being known as Dormin tells him that killing the sixteen colossi that inhabit the Forbidden Lands can revive her, but Wander will pay a terrible price in doing so. Wander sets out to systematically locate and destroy the colossi. The game is very minimalist in style leaving the game's narrative and meaning open to a lot of interpretation. The game has a massive and detailed landscape, but there are no side quests, towns, or NPCs to talk to. The game is famous for its colossus battles, which involve Wander climbing onto the enormous creatures and trying to find their weak points.
