Now Viewing: lingerieTag type: General Lingerie refers to feminine undergarments. Most undergarment tags are set to imply lingerie (with the notable exception of panties, a tag so ubiquitous as to make the implication of little use). Please note that lingerie is a more than just a plain set of bra and panties; lingerie implies that the garments are special or otherwise fancier than everyday undergarments. Typically the design will be more embellished, more risque, and/or made out of special fabrics. Lingerie guide: * babydoll: Loose fitting waist length sleeveless lingerie like a camisole, but generally fitted at the bust, extremely loose at the waist, frilly, and translucent. Often worn as a nightgown. * basque: Form-fitting but not shaping lingerie reaching from the bust to the hips, sometimes with shoulder straps or garter_straps. * bloomers: Loose, puffy panties that can extend all the way to the knees. * bra: Only tag with lingerie if fancy or special, not plain. * bustier: Form-fitting lingerie reaching from the bust to the ribs or waist. Shapes by pushing the bust up, usually no lacing or boning. * camisole: Loose fitting sleeveless lingerie or outerwear top, waist length or shorter. Obviously don't tag with lingerie if worn as outerwear (like a tank top). * chemise: Loose fitting sleeveless lingerie, longer than waist length. * corset: Restrictive form-fitting lingerie designed to restrict and shape the torso, reaching from over or under the bust to the ribs or waist. Usually with extensive lacing and/or boning. * garters: Narrow fabric bands fastened around the leg, traditionally to hold up stockings. * garter_belt: An elasticized strip of fabric worn around the waist to which garter_straps with clips are attached, to hold up stockings. * girdle: Form-fitting, shaping lingerie reaching from the ribs to the waist or hips. * negligee: A long, loose, translucent nightgown, often with multiple translucent layers. * nightgown: Loose fitting feminine nightwear gown. Only tag with lingerie if not plain. * panties: Only tag with lingerie if fancy or special, not plain. * peignoir: A long, translucent covering that opens at the front worn over a nightgown or other lingerie. * petticoat: A poofy ruffled half-slip worn under a skirt or dress. * slip: Plain lingerie worn under a skirt or dress to separate the garment from the skin. Technically different than petticoat, but tag all half- or full- slips with petticoat for gelbooru. * teddy: Waist-length lingerie with a crotch, like a combination of a camisole and panties.
