He is the leader of the Kremling race and is the main antagonist of the Donkey_Kong_Country series and Donkey Kong's most recurring and popular antagonist. His name is a pun on the words cruel and rule. He was designed by Steve Mayles. According to Mayles, the K in his name doesn't actually stand for anything and is more of an indicator of K. Rool's inflated ego, deliberately naming himself a bit differently than the rest of the Kremling race. He's the tyrannical ruler of the Kremling race who's as greedy as he's large. He has a virulent hatred of the Kongs, and is willing to do almost anything to undermine them. On top of that he's a notably sore loser and physically resilient. In his battles with the Kongs, he will frequently get up for more even after it seems like he has been defeated. Although he has always been the king, he has frequently adopted other persona throughout the Donkey Kong series, like acting as a pirate captain in Donkey Kong Country 2. He is voiced by Chris Sutherland (games from 1999-2005), Benedict Campbell (TV series), Len carlson (TV series pilot), Tsuchiya Toshihide (2007-2008), and Mogami Tsuguo Donkey Kong Bananza.
