Now Viewing: yamazaki_takashi_(director)Tag type: Character 山崎 貴 A Japanese director/visual effects artist born on June 12, 1964 in Nagano, Japan. He's a short-haired man with a stubble and glasses. He was interested in film from a young age and counts Honda Ishiro's Matango and King Kong vs. Godzilla as his first exposure to film. He was inspired to become a filmmaker in the 1970s after he saw Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. To that end, he made his first film, Glory, as a highschooler in 1979. In spite of his interest in directing, he started his professional career as a special effect artist. However, once he started directing feature films, starting with Juvenile in 2000, his special effects background allowed him to also oversee and contribute to the effects of all of his feature films. He specializes in CG effects work and all of his films feature extensive use of CG in some way. Alongside live action films, he has directed CG anime films based off of properties such as Doraemon and Lupin_iii. He is most well known for the Always franchise and for directing Godzilla_Minus_One. He's married to fellow director Satou Shimako.
