Now Viewing: VshojoTag type: Copyright An English language Virtual_Youtuber agency founded by Justin “theGunrun” Ignacio and Phillip “Mowtendoo” Fortunat on November 24, 2020. Its name is a pun on the Japanese word bishoujo and a reference to Vtubers and describes its cast of predominantly female vtubers. While their members have youtube channels, the bulk of their content consists of streams hosted on Twitch, and they have become the most dominant vtuber group on said platform. The cast is mostly made up of vtubers who have all either had experience as virtual youtubers or streamers and notably includes members who were already popular independent vtubers prior to joining the agency. The company notably doesn't have an ownership over the vtuber avatars the way most vtuber corpos do. The former independents have kept their old personas and style of content and, aside from redebuting under the VShojo banner and reintroducing themselves with a lore video, picked up where they left off. Those who leave Vshojo are also allowed to keep and use their Vshojo avatars. In 2022, VShojo expanded to include virtual youtubers who primarily stream in languages besides English. Vshojo opened a Japanese branch on July 2, 2022. After years of being the most prominent English-dominant vtuber agency, Vshojo's reputation received a fatal blow in 2025, starting with a slow exodus of talent, both vtubers and behind the scenes staff, that accelerated once Ironmouse announced her departure on July 22, 2025, explaining it was because vshojo withheld $500k worth of money that she had dedicated for charity to the Immune Deficiency Foundation and for not properly paying her, which led to other talents coming forward to echo that they had also not been properly paid. Within a day of Ironmouse's announcement, every vshojo vtuber left, and the agency officially closed on July 24, 2025.
