They were originally designed as sleigh bells to be strapped to teams of horses so people could hear them coming, but they're also used for Christmas-themed music and morris dancing. A single jingle bell on a collar or choker (AKA neck_bell), is sometimes part of catgirl-themed looks such as the cat_lingerie set. You can also see jester_caps with jingle bells on the end of the floppy bits. Sometimes they're also worn as a hair_accessory because LOL why not.
