It is the first anime movie based off of Fairy Tail and it chronologically takes place sometime between the Tenrou Island and Grand Magic Games arc. It was released in 2012. It is directed by Fujimori Masaya and written by Sogo Masashi. Hirano_Aya performs the ending theme to the movie. Lucy Heartfilia is walking home from a failed job when she witnesses a mysterious girl who seems to be about around her age collapse. Lucy takes the girl into the Fairy Tail guild. Lucy and her friends are informed by the girl and her companion Momon that she suffers from partial amnesia and she is supposed to deliver a Phoenix Stone she carries on her person to somewhere. The girl, Eclair, wants to accomplish her task alone and dislikes magic, but Lucy, Natsu, Erza, Gray, Wendy, Happy, and Charle insist on helping out Eclair. Lucy and co. accompany Eclair as they travel around the world but they soon discover that Eclair is being targeted by Prince Kriem, the ruler of the Veronica Kingdom who wants the Phoenix Stone for his own purposes. Kriem has hired the guild Carbuncle made up of powerful and ruthless mages to retrieve the stone. Lucy and co. protect Eclair and along the way, Eclair recovers her memories and forms a bond with Lucy. The film also received a short prequel that shows how Eclair and Momon met each other.
