Despite her youth, she has a very professional attitude towards her maid work to the point that she comes off as perfectionist. She often gets upset over the smallest mistakes even though her mistress Bennett Cranley is forgiving of her. Shirley is a shy and quiet girl who admires Miss Cranley. While Shirley is generally reserved, she gets very upset if someone insults Miss Cranley. Shirley also has an interest in fashion. When Miss Cranley buys a doll for Shirley, Shirley ends up spending a lot of her free time designing clothes for the doll, which she calls Little Marie.
