She is one of the main characters of Love_Live!_School_Idol_Project Despite her appearance, she is actually the oldest of the main characters. Like Hanayo, she is a major fan of idol singers and is determined to become a star school idol. Unfortunately for her, she has generally failed to make progress on this goal, leaving her cranky and frustrated. Nevertheless, she refuses to give up. She is the president of Otonokizaka's School Idol Appreciation Club. The club originally had more members but eventually Nico was the only person left. She is initially hostile towards Muse, often declaring that they are an insult to school idols. In spite of her derogatory comments, she often follows Muse around and has a habit of wearing goofy disguises while doing so. After Eli shoots down Muse's application for an idol club because Nico's Idol Appreciation Club already exists, Muse tries to convince Nico to join them but Nico remains hostile. Muse is informed by Nozomi that they were not the first school idols in Otonokizaka. When Nico was in her first year, she had formed a school idol group of her own, but the other members eventually could not cope with Nico's high standards and left. Muse once again approach Nico and eventually convince her to act as a mentor/coach for them. Nico is also good at designing outfits and designs a lot of Muse's costumes. She is a proud girl and likes to have attention. Unfortunately for her, things often do not go her way and her friends don't take her attempts at self-aggrandizing too seriously. She is also insecure about her physique, particularly her short height and small breasts. Nevertheless, Nico treasures the rest of Muse and she was deeply moved by their attempts to reach out to her. She is especially close with Nishikino Maki and the two of them are often paired together in both official and fan works. Although Nico is often unfriendly in person, she likes to put on a very sweet and cute stage persona. In this persona, she introduces herself by exclaiming "Nico Nico Ni~" Unlike Nico, her siblings are very polite and friendly. The latter greatly respect and admire their older sister. She and her siblings look quite similar to each other. All of them also have Co in their names. While the other Muse members are already familiar with Nico's self-aggrandizing personality, they are still surprised by how far she actually takes it after a chance encounter with Nico's younger sister Cocoro who unknowingly reveals that Nico has lied to her siblings about her role in Muse; Nico has told her siblings that the other members of Muse are her backup dancers while Nico is a superstar idol. To maintain the lie and probably stroke her ego, Nico has even, rathe sloppily, photoshopped official Muse posters so that Nico is front and center. Her siblings have never seen Nico's actual performances so they buy into Nico's lie. The other Muse members are initially angry at Nico for downplaying their contributions and taking all the credit, but they soon realize that Nico has been lying about her super idol status before she even met the Muse members and was still struggling to make it as an idol. The other Muse members resolve the conflict peacefully, without having to tell Nico's siblings the truth and potentially ruin their image of their big sister, by having Nico put on one 'last performance' as super star idol Nico. Nico finally openly acknowledges the contributions of the other Muse members and moves beyond trying to hog the spotlight. She is voiced by Tokui_Sora, who also voices Nico's siblings.
