She is not afraid of Seiji unlike most girls, but she dislikes him because she believes that he is a violent thug and as a class representative she wants to keep him from causing any more trouble. Her classmates dislike her attitude to the point that they refuse to help her when some delinquents looking for Seiji harass her and attempt to kidnap her in broad daylight. Seiji, whose right hand has become Midori at this point, rescues her, but Ayase is still suspicious of Seiji. After Ayase witnesses Seiji allowing himself to be beaten up in order to protect his friend, she realizes that Seiji has a kind heart and falls for him. Throughout the story, she tries to woo Seiji but often becomes flustered and Seiji is oblivious to her feelings towards him. She is voiced by Takagi Reiko.
