He is extremely stoic and often seems cold and rude, but he is nevertheless a good man who cares about others deep down. His Stand is Star Platinum and his daughter is Kujo Jolyne. He is also famous for his catch phrase, 'Yare yare daze,' which can be translated as "Gimme a break!" Bahn from Fighting Vipers is modeled after him. His design and personality was modeled after actor Clint_Eastwood and the roles he often plays. One of Joutarou's most famous poses, where he points directly at the viewer, is modeled after a similar pose in Dirty Harry with Joutarou's index finger replacing Harry's .44 Magnum. Even Joutarou's famous catch phrase was derived from a line from one of Eastwood's movies where Eastwood says "Bank robbery? Gimme a break!" Joutarou's quiet and seemingly aloof demeanor was inspired by what Araki believes a true hero is like. In his opinion, "heroes are solitary. They don’t seek value or praise for doing what they believe is right. In other words, their justice goes unrewarded. Sometimes, going down the just path makes them end up alone. " He is voiced by Yanada_Kiyoyuki (CD drama, Capcom video game), Kosugi_Jurota (anime), Inada_Tetsu (PS2 game), and Ono_Daisuke (All Star Battle, Eyes of Heaven, anime TV series). Ono has also cited the Jojo series, which he was introduced to via Stardust Crusaders, as having a big impact on his life and his career. It was one of the main reasons he wanted to become a voice actor and he ultimately got the chance to play its most iconic character. In live action, he is played by Iseya Yusuke (Diamond is not Crash films), who has been a fan of the character since junior high.
