Now Viewing: street_fighter_vTag type: Copyright (ストリートファイターV ) A 2D fighting game with 3D graphics developed by Capcom for the PS4 and PC. It is part of the Street_Fighter franchise and is set between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III. It is directed by Nakayama Takayuki and produced by Ono Yoshinori. The soundtrack is composed by Aoki Masahiro, Fukasawa Hideyuki, Kobayashi Keiki, Wakabayashi Takatsugu, and Zac Zinger. It was released on February 4, 2016. The game introduces a V-Gauge, which builds as the player receives attacks and gives access to V-Skills, V-Reversals, and V-Triggers, which make use of the Gauge. The first are special attacks unique to each character, the second lets players counter attacks, and the third use the entire gauge for a unique special ability. The game was notable and controversial for its release strategy: the game was initially released fully playable, but bare-bones when it came to other features and the story mode. The latter was gradually made available through downloads. Despite the controversy over this strategy, the game managed to break the EVO record for most entrants for a single game with over 3000 registrations in 4 days. Besides new characters, this game also brings back quite a few long absent Street Fighter Zero characters with new designs such as Charlie Nash, and Kanzuki Karin.
