Kirishima is the fourth and last ship of the Kongou-class battleships in Kantai_Collection. (Though Kirishima and Haruna_(Kantai Collection) were completed on the same day, Haruna is generally considered to have been the third ship of the class due to having been laid down one day earlier.) All of the Kongou-class wear a modified miko (nontraditional_miko) uniform with differently colored skirts and thigh_boots. They also wear the same signature winged hairband. Kirishima herself has short_hair, black_hair, green-framed_glasses glasses and wears a dark blue skirt. She uses a spider-like rig. For her second remodeling (remodel_(Kantai Collection)), she gains the same modifications as Kongou and her rig is replaced with one used by Kongou. She is also noticeably taller than her sisters. Sometimes seen holding a microphone due to her doing a mic check in her intro. This is now enforced with her hourlies. During the Second Battle of Guadalcanal, the historical Kirishima took the lead in a bloody night battle that, together with the previous night's losses, sank so many ships that it led to the body of water they fought in being named "Ironbottom Sound". Kirishima helped sink several allied ships and was able to damage the USS_South_Dakota, due to the Dakota suffering an electrical failure, but ultimately was sunk by USS_Washington because of bad spacial awareness. She also bombarded Henderson Field during the night, an event that would be named "The Nightmare of Solomon" by the American marines stationed on Henderson Field. It is because of this history she can be shown having sudden violent outbursts when angered, as in post #2249180. The pixiv tag "マイクチェックの時間だオラァ!" [1] (often translated as "It's mic check time, dammit!") is dedicated to this violent side of hers. Her "Nightmare of Solomon" nickname is contested by Yuudachi_(Kantai_Collection), but whether Yuudachi actually deserves this nickname is itself contested.
