To me, following biochemistry studies, this actually incredibly funny! XD
For your information, there's a protein nammed Sonic Hedgehog (Shh), which is involved in the separation and differentiation of the eyes (i.e. from one group of cells destined to become an eye in the middle of your face to two separate eyes), among other pathways (Shh is involved in organogenis actually, i.e. formation/growth of digits on your limbs, organization of the brain, etc...).
Deffenciency in this protein (or a mutation in the gene) can cause your eyes to not completely dissociate, or even not dissociate at all (and you look like a cyclop; the disease is called Cyclopia).
(And Shh has a (potential) inhibitor called Robotnikinin too)
