Bridget being trans doesn't contradict or discredit their backstory, since their backstory was about the curse of twins with the same sex, nothing to do with gender. Her village had a superstition about MALE twins, where the younger would be put to death. The parents "raised bridget as a girl" exclusively to hide that they had a penis. Bridget's quest was to disprove a superstition from her village in regards to what sex she was, not what gender she is. That's why her wearing girl clothes when she left the village wasn't a problem, because the expression was never what the superstition was about. Let the talking points die.

As for tagging. She is trans, but "boy" and "girl" refer to both sex and gender. And this site is entirely about what you can see. You can't see the psychology of the character in the picture. You don't tag for sexuality or gender, you tag for sex acts and genitals. Putting 1boy on a trans character is fine, because "boy" ALSO refers to sex. She's a boy, and a girl, just in different senses of the word. But you should tag her as a boy, because people who don't know who she is are getting results they don't want from the search.
