Well "Yoiko" appears in manga only and Ryoga's dog Shirokuro is actually female in that version (it gave birth to puppies in the chapter it 1st appeared) and is the Hibiki house's family dog.

However in the anime Shirokuro also makes an appearance however the dog was introduced as male and it was changed to be a shinobi dog on the run from Sasuke's (Kuno's lacky) village.

At the beginning of the anime when they first introduced Ryouga, people thought Ryouga had turned into a dog before they discovered that he was a pig. He let them believe it because he found being a pig embarrassing (at least until he realized that Akane thought "P-chan" was cute).

There must be some kind of pun or something as far as the mating part go. The scene shown in the foreground is actually what Ryouga in the smaller picture imagines happened. I.E Yoiko is most likely talking about something else. Maybe she is saying that Shirokuro impregnated some other dog?

Anon4, maybe Yoiko is talking about the puppies the dog had in the manga? The joke was that Ryouga had to visit his dog again because it was going to have puppies. So the pun would be:



"Listen, I birthed the dogs puppies, okay? You raised that dog, oniichan, so take responsibility!""

"When she says birthed, that means that Yoiko and Shirokuro mated...? My god, all this happened just because I was away!"


Could it be translated like this? It would make more sense.
