I always thought of Suzaku as Amuro... I mean think about it... They both got lucky to pilot a incredible white machine that end up being feared!
Then they both became incredible pilots... And then they both lost someone that they loved...

Actually, Suzaku is a clone of Kira Yamato from Gundam SEED mainly due to being of Japanese nationality and having ungodly amounts of plot armor for poor, contrived reasons. That and the wholly invincible mech abilities, again, for an unexplained reason.

Fun fact, mentioning Kira....

Kira Yamato is the only Gundam pilot we ever see getting laid. 1st or 2nd SEED movie. It's after the 8th Fleet is wiped out. They land in the desert and after he's returned to the ship, Flay "Consoles" him...doggie style at one point.

I don't think Suzaku could ever be Kira. Kira's a) The Protagonist. b) Likeable. c) Not lying about changing things from the inside. And d) Not an asshole in Destiny
