And yet Japanese people MUST be buying it enough to keep the studio afloat even though it's so terrible in quality. I don't get how this studio has survived for years, yet studios like CollabWork's who brought us amazingly animated pieces like Kyonyuu Fantasy and KuroInu (first 4 episodes) go down the drain in quality. It reminds me of the Live2D trend, *sometimes* it looks good, but even the "good" Live2D animations can't compare to good 2D animations out there. It just lacks the charm and "life" that hand drawn frame by frame animation has, yet it's still somehow kept afloat and popping up everywhere too. I guess Japanese people are fine paying for products that are "good enough", probably why the mobile phone microtransaction culture is so cancerously widespread in their games.

Having low or high "standards" has nothing to do with popularity, some things just arrive at the right moment and explode in popularity, like songs, games, shows... in any part of the world.
Also cheap animation is well, cheap xD, that's why this kind of animation is profitable.
