It's funny how people like to compare things like this and web shows to Disney animated movies in the cinema. RWBY's quality is not much worse than any animated TV series. If you watched Dreamwork's tv channel, the 3D shows that are based on blockbuster movies (like How to Train Your Dragon) are super bad compared to the movies; poor quality renders and animation, nothing special from the stories, script and pacing, still camera shots and close ups with no detail on backgrounds, cheap sound & music editing etc. What their budget and experience allows them is to produce episodes relatively quickly. Sure there are individual artists that make high quality animations but they make like 5-10 second animations per month instead of an episode a week or two, and the silly expectations many have are the result of over 1 year of work by pros and the use of render farms etc. I appreciate the animation of RWBY (for me a successor to Dead Fantasy) and this fine lady right here, as well as cinema blockbusters. Lets just enjoy every piece of art for what it is or leave it be, money is always the primary constraint anyway.
