I am not complaining, but what IS all this love for Lana? Usually everyone gives there attention to heroine and/or the female protagonist and almost no one else when it comes to pokemon fandom.

^ It's because her character (and several others in SM) are pretty fleshed out in the game, which is something you never usually see in Pokemon except maybe the anime. Which is great since I hate the anime but love the games and manga. It actually feels like we know the people we would have considered as simple NPC bosses back then, and Lana is probably one of my favorites in SM. If Lillie hadn't taken the spot for best girl, Lana would be up there.
But to really answer your question, Heikitsune, I'll sum it up in 3 words: SWIMSUIT. TOMBOY. LOLI.

^ It's because her character (and several others in SM) are pretty fleshed out in the game, which is something you never usually see in Pokemon except maybe the anime. Which is great since I hate the anime but love the games and manga. It actually feels like we know the people we would have considered as simple NPC bosses back then, and Lana is probably one of my favorites in SM. If Lillie hadn't taken the spot for best girl, Lana would be up there.

And as much as I want to agree on you on the fandom loving fleshed out characters in the game, people seem to love Serena (Her gameself not the anime. Haven't watched it and never will.) even though she was an exp sponge but Shuana has this whole firework show with you, finding her true goal in life, basically your love interest, doesn't just battle every time you met, has a thing for puzzles, and a bunch of other things and bearly anyone gives her the time of day.
But I should just keep my mouth shut on this topic. -_- my favorite couple is LinkXSamus; two people who probably aren't in the same universe. There is a theory that hyrule MAY be in Samus solar system or galaxy, but it's filled with more holes then Dante after all four Devil may crys.
