GT was only really stupid at the beginning and especially the Super 17 Saga. Say what you will of Super, DB Minus and all that jazz, but the entire Super 17 Arc was nothing sort of a complete travesty that's only second to DB Evolution in utter horridness.
But if there's one thing GT has it going for its the Shadow Dragon Saga which serves as a better finale to the franchise rather than Goku flying away with Uub at the end of Z.

Shadow Dragons wasn't any better, because nobody save for Goku and Pan did a fucking thing for nearly all of it.

I like DB GT much more than DB Super.
In Super there no that efect like in GT (Like if Toryiama lost pasion from time of Z). No Uub, no Bra, Gohan lost supersaiyan power, Picoolo babysitter.... Goku him self is too childish, In end of Z he was more inteligent and admirable and I like that in GT as a child.
In GT there are episodes I like watch again. In Super, I skip almost entire Frezer saga (It was to boring). Potara ering lost power of permanent fuse. What up with fusion dance...

Ep with Arali and basebal I regret lost time.
I loved DB, DB Z. Its Best anime ever, and it ends with GT perfectly.
Super is like machine stile making (there´s metod how to make any movie interesting and I fell that style from Super. But there nothing from old DB) :(
