We finally manage to circumvent the sausage party that was DBZ, but no, she may be part of the Son family, but only boys can become super saiyan (pun intended).

I always figured she couldnt go super saiyan because shes only 1/4th saiyan. I never thought her gender came into play.

Considering GT's ending showing Goku Jr., Goku's great great grandson, turning super saiyan, I don't think dilution of saiyan blood from having children with non-saiyans is an issue. It seems like as long as you're descended from saiyans, you have the ability.
GT may not be canon with the main timeline now, but it showing that is consistent with other depictions that have happened recently.

Except, ye have to remember that, officially, nothing we saw past Battle of Gods and Resurrection of F is canon. If we take that into account, we have yet to see anyone less than half-saiyan go Super Saiyan. If Dragon Ball Super has a bit of a time-skip, and we see either Pan or Bra go Super Saiyan, only THEN can we be certain that blood dilution doesn't factor in.

The question is will Toriyama do it. On one hand, he had no problem just handing it to Goten and Kid Trunks, but on the other hand, he doesn't exactly treat his female character all that great.
