One of the few revolvers made easy to suppress, comparatively speaking, the M1895 features an additional complexity which serves to push the cylinder firmly against the frame, and ammunition with a deep seating and an extra bit of casing which engages the barrel of the gun, much like a bottle-necked round in the chamber of a rifle... Altogether, these curiosities form a better seal and produce less escaping gases around the cylinder/frame gap than other revolvers. Considering the relatively low power of the round used to begin with, this system also serves to maximize the power of the round, which is quite necessary...
