Anon1- Realistic tears are hard to draw, as is anything transparent or liquid. They are easier with digital art because of all the brushes and effects you can use, but as traditionally, I've been drawing for years and I still, regrettably, cannot draw tears that don't look cartoonesque and weird.

The tears are actually pretty well painted if you take into account that EVERYTHING in the drawing is highly stylized - even if this isn't immediately noticeable due to automatic mental comparisons to the manga or anime. Those aren't 'noob' tears, and even if they were, who actually says the word 'noob' and expects it to not be insulting? There are better words. Gosh.

Anon4 has the right of it. Stylisation can make anything look "noob" to someone who ascribes to a different style. Artists who uses an entirely realistic style might say that anime in general has "noob art," except they wouldn't use the word noob, because it's retarded.
