^ It's tagged amputee, though, and not once, but twice (amputee and quadruple_amputee)...
Anon 1 is actually correct. Look closely, and you can see that both the front and back of the cuff-like bands are visible. If it was attached to an arm, you'd only be able to see the front piece, not the inside bit, too.
The same goes for the legs. Look at them closely, too. You can see a flat plane on the bottom of the leg angled towards the viewer. This suggests that the leg has been amputated above the knee.
You don't even have to be looking at it at the full resolution to see this, I know I wasn't.
In the future, take a good, long look at the image before you call someone a retard, otherwise, you just look like a fool.

Actually, I would posit that the artist deliberately misled the viewer. Anon 3 is correct in his analysis however you can ALSO clearly see shadows on her arms and legs where they enter the black sleeves, which also wrap around behind.
This pic should have the Optical_Illusion tag if one exists.

Nah, what it needs is a "high_gamma" tag or similar. IE turn up the brightness on your monitor or change your video card colour calibration to a lighter setting.
If mine wasn't a weird LG Flatron with "lightview" modes, and wasn't still set to "daylight/photo" from earlier though it's now night time and I really should have flipped to a night mode, I wouldn't have caught it. The telltale parts are really quite dark.
