You always forget that Makoto is YOU. All his actions are controlled by the player, all the decisions are made by the player, and he won't do anything by himself. So it's pointless to blame him for fucking everything, as the player commands him to do so.

In the game that is true, but it is the anime most people remember in which Makoto is a complete bastard that will fuck anything and everything he can without regard for the consequences and nobody but the animators had control over his anime portrayal so he really can be blamed for fucking everything.
