Taiho, displacement 29,800 tons, the only Japanese carrier to be completed after 1942. After U.S. dive bombers sunk four Japanese carriers at Midway, her designers incorporated an armored flight deck to negate their attacks.
...
She was sunk by torpedoes from an American submarine. Remember the hull too next time, fellas.

Yeah Anon1, it happened to IJNS Shinano (supercarrier) too, but that time the U.S. Submariners were just trolling (I like to joke that anyway). The Shinano was literally JUST FINISHED and she was being tested. The sub came INTO THE JAPANESE HARBOUR and sunk her. Apparently it was done this way just to piss off the Imperial Navy. We could have waited until it came into our waters, but no let's sink it now just to dash their hopes. lol!!

Actually, matsushiro2011, the attacking sub didn't know what they sank until after the war and they checked the IJN's records. The sub crew actually thought they sunk a smaller carrier, not the largest carrier of the war. Not to mention the Shinano was sunk far off the coast, not anywhere near the harbor, so that's a lie too.
Load your head before you shoot your mouth. :P
