What movies and shows have you watched or rewatched recently, or are you currently watching.

Yesterday, I rewatched Prehistoric Park, one of my childhood favorite prehistoric media shows.

I recently watched Scarface.
I don't really have any strong opinions or much to say about it, besides that is refreshing watching a classic film after only hearing bad things about modern day movies.
now that I think back on it I do want to highlight all the girls in bikinis that show up, because wow...

I recently saw The Warriors for the first time. Man I don't know why it took me so long cause that movie fucking kicked ass

I've also been re-watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners since I've been playing so much Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex lately. After that I'm gonna go watch Ghost In The Shell. It's a franchise that's a favorite of mine since my teenage years but haven't sat down and watch them in a little while

Rango because I recently saw on my feed a rattlesnake with a cowboy hat and made me want to watch Rango again.

I recently re watched Ghost In The Shell 1995. Such a great movie. The music and atmosphere is impeccable and the pacing is fantastic. it's only 82 minutes but it doesn't feel rushed, it feels just the right amount of time it needs

The last movie I saw was in theaters, Nezha 2. It was EPIC. Even with only a vague understanding of the mythological source material (Investiture of the Gods), the story wasn't too hard to follow, and I had a rollicking good time. It had a cast of colorful characters, a quest for immortality, martial arts duels, and cataclysmic battles between giant armies of demons, dragons, and celestial immortals. I have never seen such monumental scale and spectacle put to screen. And yet, for a demi-god beat 'em up movie, it has some surprising maturity in its core message about not being bound by one's fate (but also, to be fair, some immaturity in its sense of humor at points, given its protagonist is an androgynous little chaos gremlin).

Nezha 2's position as the highest-grossing animated film, and 5th highest-grossing film in absolute terms of all time is very well deserved. Chinese animation has made great strides in a short amount of time, and alongside Black Myth: Wukong last year, I'm seeing a growing cultural confidence in Chinese pop-culture exports. I'm excited to see what else Chinese media has in store in the future.

Despite all the violence and what not, the original RoboCop is still a pretty great showing of how out of control corporations can strip a man of his humanity, his identity and even his own right to self determination.

... Or, ya know, I'm just looking too deep into a movie about a cyborg shooting people.

The new Yaiba anime on Netflix. It's pretty good so far, and I especially love the art style.
