Big corporations made so expensive games they barely pay themselves. For them it´s a gamble, put a ton of money into projects, see what of them pays off, repeat. It´s not healthy, soon or later it will not bring enough money to the table and industry will crash. I hope some independent may keep in business, so video games can reborn.
Is a paradox of infinite growth, spend more than the last time to earn more than the last time, at some point it had to stop, they a already wanted to increase their prices from 60 to 70 to 100 dollars
Most AAA studios are kinda stupid, instead of looking at indies and realizing they can survive with cheap games if great quality they put all their eggs in a single basket and suffer the imminent failure
Okay can we talk about the Stellar Blade demo having fully uncensored costumes?
Because I was not expecting a mostly naked sexy female character on the Playstation 5, since Sony has been notorious for censoring sexy stuff in the past few years.
Do NOT ever believe that the game devs that have come out to defend SBI do it because they are this holy warrior that are against discrimination, sexism, etc.
Game development takes time, a lot of time, and even when the game is finished, it takes time to get published. So, when SBI detected was created, it put a mark not only on games that are out, but also on games that are in development and games that are about to be published. Games that those devs are involved in.
So, when a game dev goes out of their way to defend SBI, what they are doing is trying to protect their income, this affects them as well.
If you're talking about individual game devs, then I doubt it. It's possible some could be pressured by higher ups to say such things, but that's a bit farfetched since it's not some major issue. If an individual game dev goes out of their way to defend Sweet Baby Inc, chances are they're just idiots who agree with the cringe that SBI puts out. Making a public statement in support of SBI simply out of self-protection makes sense for companies and full development teams, not some rando bootlicking SBI because they agree with the garbage they peddle.
If going by what that biracial curly haired chick said, then absolutely. She literally said something like "we're going to make a fuss and threaten to tell your bosses if they do not cooperate" and she's the founder of the company. You can't get much more clear cut in intentions than that.
