So. Is it just me, or uh. Is there some sort of limit regarding how big one's blacklist can get? I just tried adding a bunch of tags to mine, and.. I get a gateway error consistently.

EDIT: So, further investigation. Tried adding only some of the tags I need to add to my existing blacklist. Tried to add less and less from the set I need to add, and..of all the tags I need in my blacklist, I could only add one. Adding 2 or more caused gateway errors.

The "My Tags" and blacklist together cannot be larger than packet size. I think that is 4 kilobytes. If it is smaller than that then I'm not sure what the problem is. Deleting your Gelbooru cookies and adding the tags again might fix it if that is the case.

Gateway errors are entirely server-side, so deleting cookies won't do dick. When you're sending a request to change your blacklist, it completely ignores your cookies and only uses the data you're sending from the textbox. Either the textbox is too full (in which case I'm actually impressed - that's a lot of tags in your blacklist) or there's an issue with communications between our servers. If it's the latter, it's likely temporary, so try again in a few hours or tomorrow or something.

Well, I'm probably exceeding that limit either way. I won't lie, I have a rather large number of tags in my blacklist. ..Looks like 178, after taking a moment to count 'em. Plus 10 more in "My Tags".

Have you gone through your blacklist to check for duplicates and tags that you don't need to blacklist because they aren't valid?

The last person who experienced an issue like this ended up having a bunch of tags that have never been used on Gelbooru, as well as a bunch that meant the same thing. I remember trimming out all the unnecessary tags and it went down to like 20-30 tags tops.

Knowing how I am with just browsing the site, and blacklisting things, and such...at worst there'd be maybe 3 "invalid" tags, 1 dupe max, and some "user:" tags I miiiight be able to clear out. But any invalids and dupes are unlikely.

Also, side-note. Jerl, if you think hitting the limit on a blacklist on here is impressive, should probably be glad I don't need my blacklist here to be anywhere near the size of my blacklist on Derpibooru. 1600+. But then, tag stuff on there's a little..weird.

wow 178. And I thought I had alot with around 30.
