Q2: What age do normal men prefer?
Up through the previous page we have addressed the tastes of lolicon men. From this page, we will compare those tastes to those men surveyed who identified themselves to be "normal". The determination was made on the basis of the same question as before: those who answered to Q6, "Are you a lolicon?", with "I'm normal" were treated as normal from henceforth. Since the link to the survey was distributed through the Yasudajuku Fantia and Yasuda Yasuhiro Twitter, it was anticipated that the sample would be biased towards lolicons. However, by providing an option "I can't say either way" in response to Q6, "Are you a lolicon?", we are able to screen out not only confirmed lolicons, but potential lolicons as well. In this way, we can largely prevent lolicon responders from being counted amongst normal responders.
First, we will again begin with the same question as with the lolicon men, Q23: "Please enter the age of girl you find most sexually attractive." As can be seen by Graph 4, compared to those who identify as lolicons, the graph is less skewed and is relatively close to a normal distribution. The most popular response was 22 years old, at 11.93%, followed by 17 at 9.17%, then 18 at 8.26%. Ages 18 and under comprised 38.53% of responses, and those 20 and under comprised 48.62%. In other words, from this we can say that even among normal men, approximately half are most attracted to women 20 and under.
Next, let us investigate the age of woman that normal men most want to date. Looking at Graph 5, 22 years old clearly stands out, comprising 14.42% of the total. Furthermore, ages 22 and under comprise the majority of responses, at 52.88%. In the previous question on sexual preference, 22 was also the most popular answer; however, it fit in with the distribution of the other ages. In the case of age of dating preference, the age 22 stands out amongst what is otherwise a rather normally distributed graph.
So what makes 22 such a popular choice for desired dating age? What's so special about this age? From the previously discussed Q24, "To you, at what age is one an adult?", looking at the responses of normal men we see that 32.11% answered 18, and 22.94% answered 20. Therefore, it does not seem as if normal men see the age of 22 in particular as the turning point of adulthood. However, only 1.81% of lolicon men answered 22 to this question, compared to 7.34% of normal men, indicating that they do more strongly consider this age as a turning point of adulthood. One hypothesis is that normal men are attracted to newly working adults who have just graduated or are job-hunting. University matriculation rate is currently over 50%, meaning that the majority of people go to university. One can surmise that a perception of transition in life stage comes with the transition from university student to working adult. This then naturally explains the large difference from 21 year olds, who, despite only a 1 year difference, are still 4th year university students. The difference between 23 and 22 year olds may reflect the difference between fresh graduates and second-year working adults.
