Ah, the H&K AICE, an ambitious design! So ambitious, that it was split into its component weapons and developed seperately. Don't hold your breath, because, as of typing, they're both still prototypes.

I think you mean the weapon from Metal Storm, this is an XM29 OICW from H&K. Though the two are very similar as they are from the same program and were competing against each other.

Well now I'm the one who goofed, they weren't from the same program but the Metal Storm AICW (Advanced Individual Combat Weapon) is very similar to the H&K XM29 OICW. The XM29 competed against the AAI OICW and the FN F2000 of Splinter Cell fame in the Objective Individual Combat Weapon military program. Eventually the XM29 would inspire the H&K XM8 rifle and the XM25 CDTE (Counter Defilade Target Engagment) grenade launcher.

I remember the first time I learned about the XM29 OICW (Objective Individual Combat Weapon) was from playing Eternal Darkness. It was pretty awesome.
