that's not right, it wasn't Lancer who charged in like that, it was the Gae Bolga that curved around the anti-ulti (kinda like going back time) and extended itself; like a long version of what happened to Saber when they first fought.

Gae Bolg doesn't actually twist its shape and extend. It's shown that way to give the reader/watcher a way to wrap their head around the concept, but all the spear does is switch cause and effect; it makes sure in whatever way it needs to that it ends up through the target's heart.

As Lancer is the one holding the spear, naturally he moves with it. Once the spear has found its target, its always shown as being of normal length and shape despite whatever distortions may have been shown prior. The picture here makes perfect sense.
