He started his career as an editor on Puff magazine and followed that by being an assistant to Golden Boy creator Egawa Tatsuya on his manga Making Be Free! Fujishima made his debut in 1986 with the buddy cop comedy manga You're_Under_Arrest!, his breakthrough work. He is most well known for creating Aa_Megami-sama. Since the series has lasted so long, it is also a showcase for how much Fujishima's artwork has changed. His work is often light hearted and laid-back in atmosphere with a lack of malicious antagonists. He also has a strong interest in cars and motorbikes and often depicts them in extensive and accurate detail and has created multiple manga where vehicles play a major role in the story such as You're_Under_Arrest! and Toppuu_GP. Even the romantic comedy Aa Megami-sama features plenty of focus on vehicles due to protagonist Keiichi being part of a Motor Club. He has also done character designs for various Tales_(series) games and the Sakura_Taisen series. He married popular cosplayer Otogi Nekomu on June 29, 2016.
