What if the entire universe of Touhou was just a lie?
Reimu Hakurei was a real girl, who believed she was a shrine maiden, but real was just an ordinary girl, who suffered from schizophrenia and uses dolls and talks to them. Eventually, she shuts herself in her room and plays with her dolls, while claiming to "solve incidents". She started to act unusual, even to other students at school, claiming them to also be youkai. Her parents become extremely worried with her demeanor and asked her to stop. She never did, and so they threw her into an insane asylum. She's still talking to herself to this day.
