If I saw Nier and Raiden together,I would likely mistake it for a time paradox.

i'd rather have the original (old!Nier) than this and i'm happy square didn't localize the ~bishounen~ version of him over in the states. old!original!Nier is much more attractive, imho and seeing an older hero is a nice change of pace from the usually young, overly attractive main males that show up in games and other media.

Anon4 is clearly the only one with any intelligence here. All of you who want to play as this Nier, go grab any other JRPG. Because Brother Nier was just a carbon copy of every single JRPG protagonist ever made, right down to the plot even.
Father Nier was a thousand times better. He had a realistic character and motivation, and it made more sense for him to have the strength and willpower he did throughout the story, rather than some little brat suddenly being able to pull of feats that not even the adults of his world could. And it's much more realistic and touching to see a father who earnestly loves his daughter travel the world and do everything to save his daughter, rather than the done-to-death "I GOTTA SAVE MY SISTER DESU" plot of every other game.
Get your heads out of the super otaku asshole they're shoved in.
