A kabutops scratches up its pray so it bleeds, feeds on the blood and then lets it get away so that it may heal and possibly provide another meal at a later date.
Its younger form, kabuto, uses its incredibly strong legs to crush the shells of its pray from behind and feed on the meat inside.
