indeed we *can* hold on to cherished and powerful memories while being able to move on. it ain't easy. it ain't fun. but eventually we must let go of what is hurting us most. sometimes we are clinging to memories that are holding us back. let go and embrace the change that comes before us, but cherish the memories that we once had that have now made us better people.

watch the movie before you read my spoiler, please:

at the end, I was truly heart broken when akari did not wait for the train to pass to talk to takaku. but had it not been for this ending, the message would have been less clear. i cannot believe takaku was able to let go, smile, and walk away, even though they had been through so much.

10/10 movie.
