I don't think humans who have touched the Deathnote become deathgods! Actual I have two reasons why I can say for sure that they don't. First of all I read the manga and watched the anime and I forget which one explains it better but humans who have touched the Deathnote have NO AFTER LIFE! I would consider being a Deathgod an afterlife. Second Light would not stop his executions if he was a Deathgod. Instead he would be extremely happy most likely and continue his act. There is like a databook set of information online and some special questions that the creator answered are also there. None of them refer to this because I am sure this question was already answered. But it's still a neat set to look at it explains a lot of things. It's sometime like Deathnote the how to guide or something? It was officially released.

@Anon#426470 I don't think Shinigami are born or something like that. They are Gods of death so being born doesn't really fit to them , I suppose^·^

^ In Japan, the floors are clean...EVERYWHERE.
Waiting for the train at one of the subways stations, I noticed the floor was so clean you could eat off it.
