Apparently the MTX in Dragon's Dogma 2 isn't so bad, as some people are saying that all of the MTX can be earned in game pretty easily with 2 hours of play.

Still though, even if it's true, MTX still shouldn't be present in a single player game.

But I guess this is a situation where you'd have to do research instead of simply listening to what others say.

Capcom is a shitty company anyway, regardless if it's true or not, they even implemented "Enigma" in their games at one point. A literal trojan software.

Gaming has definitely in a sort of decline within the past 5-10 years. When any medium becomes significant and profitable, it'll inevitably attract the unwanted. The parasitic busybodies, corporate types and activists

Right now indie and AA games are what's been breaking the mold that the stagnant legacy Devs have been lacking. Blizzard, Activision, Capcom, Square Enix, Sega, Bethesda, etc. Some fell sooner than others. Still in disbelief that I've been seeing more Japanese devs hop on the ESG/DEI bandwagon. Fuck you Black Rock and Vanguard.

If devs like Arrowhead Studios (HellDivers 2) can keep out the unwanted that will inevitably try to join and change them, they may be able to stay the course and keep making something all gamers want. A fun ass game with no other pretenses. They've been strong so far from being swayed

it's been seeping in. Noticed it when the NPC trainer designs in the latest Pokemon Violet/Scarlet. Less cute, more safe bland designs. The recent nerf in how the female trainer looks in Pokemon Go.

The Pokemon Company had posted a job listing for "Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Social Responsibility"
Job Summary: ... - This role will partner with the DEISR Team to build diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and Social Responsibility (SR) initiatives and programs to influence employee engagement, --"

The job pays rough $200k annual, so if any degens here are looking for a new job and want to put Pokemon back on the right path, go nuts

Also, recently learned why/how Square Enix disaster game Forespoken was the way it is with it's quippy MCU dialogue, social issues, etc. Square Enix had a consulting company called (Black Girl Gamers) that act on their own activist agenda. To even join their community you have to "identify as a woman or non-binary person". In interviews with their founder Jay-Ann has expressed that she's annoyed with white characters. It doesn't sound like a company that just want to tell a fun story with fun game mechanics. But for some reason Square though it'd be a good idea to engage in the "global market"

There's more of these little busybody activists than just Sweet Baby Inc. that have been seeping into the east. The weirdness between western/eastern Developers is what kept those games apart and unique. The homogeneous (global audience) approach lames the style of games. It sucks. I'm just gonna keep voting with my wallet in the meantime.

Pokemon always had bland designs for NPCs since XY.

Can you link to this list you mentioned?

Thought Sun/Moon had a lot of cool/pretty NPC trainer designs. My all time favs are the Lass in Silver/Gold and Hex Maniac in X/Y but thought the Female Hiker (the camera work to get that ass shot is masterful) and Female Tourist NPCs in Sun/Moon were really cute. However, the NPC trainer designs in Scarlet/Violet, it's really rough. For a land based off France, it's disappointing. Not a single french maid.

And sure, this is the listing

Paldea was based in Spain, and it's because of new artists in charge after Ken's being in backseat.

And this list applies for US citizens on a US branch of a foreign IP, the title alone and buzzwords such as "DEI" attracts diversity hires (making the series worse than already is), it has nothing to do with Japan going woke or any unhinged doomposts.

Isn't it just beyond insane that Pokemon, a very family friendly series since it's inception, needs to start nerfing the female form?

I mean at least I understand why some of the edgier, sexier, etc. games are selected to have these values imposed on them, but pokemon? Who was actually offended by the E for Everyone character designs?

Are there really that many super mentally ill people that are offended by the female trainer wearing feminine clothes? Or the pokemon go female trainer having wide hips?

While slow, been observing a decrease of overall ecchi in games. Blessed though we have people like Yoko Taro that keeps it alive in all the right ways. Also,

It is silly, fixing things that aren't broken. Been following one of the OG Blizzard devs, Mark Kern, who's been shining a spotlight on these sorts of things. He's how I found out what happened with Square Enix and the consulting firm that ended up with the game "Forespoken"

So Asians are now considered "white adjacent" by these game consultants and they call people who doesn't want to buy their game associates "racist."

I guess all the mirrors are broken in whatever building they work in as well their houses/apartments for them to be unable to see their hypocrisy as well their clown noses.
