Technically a genderswap, since the character doesn't have testicles in the anime and is in fact fully female (female hyenas have a pseudopenis, look it up).

I never understood how that pseudopenis is supposed to work exactly. Is it just a tube where males introduce their own penises into? Does it get "erect"? Can they penetrate others with it? I might be asking too many questions.

A pseudopenis is more or less the clitoris. It does have a urethra for urination purposes and aids in giving birth (stability) but is for all intents and purposes just clitoris and not a penis. It doesnt have balls, nor does it have much to do with the male penis other than similarity.
