Wanna-be idols see trading sex as an easy way to advance their careers. They're so naive that they think the producers will wear a condom and usually don't even bring one to the meeting, assuming the guy will have one. It's not uncommon for a middle-aged producer to be making 4 or 5 child support payments a month.
