The magic staff contains a special device that uses about 3% of its magic flow to hypnotize the caster whenever it's activated.
The staff itself is good, so even if its magic is cut by 3%, the final output is still much larger than the 100% of a regular staff.
The amount of magic used for this is small compared to the total magic invoked by the caster.
When the staff is activated, the mage's own power circulates around and inside her body, so the hypnotic spell created from it is almost indiscernible.
Many mages know mental defense tactics to defend against psychological spells, so it's difficult to affect them this way.
However, this doesn't account for being frequently subjected to the same magic over a long period of time, making it possible to gradually corrupt them.
Contents of the hypnotic spell:
・ "I want to devote myself to the shopkeeper". (She doesn't have to know the subject to be influenced.)
・ "I must not let anyone else know about this".
・ Suppresses the possibility of being under a mental attack from her thoughts.
Mental defense tactics repel interferences caused by psychological spells, but they simply act as a barrier and not to sustain a regular state of mind.
