China isn't communist. It's ideology is basically racial nationalism mixed in with hard-line pro-corporate capitalism and far-right traditionalist social engineering. Seriously.

Ironically the closest advocates for what China has now would be something like Mussolini's Italy, Franco's Spain, Pinochet's Chile, and other fascist governments, historically.

This is belied by the fact that during much of the Cold War the Chinese were U.S. allies against the actual communists in the Soviet Union and elsewhere... anybody else remember that 'Red Dawn' movie where the Chinese were praised by the anti-Soviet teen fighters?
