To me, Ganondorf has always seemed to be a character that the writers have never really explored why he's doing what he does, except for a few parts where he mentions he's jealous of Hyrule's lush lands, while his own homeland struggles under constant drought and plague, I think.
I wonder what Link would do if he came to realise that Hyrule can only know peace if Ganondorf's homeland is restored at the cost of Hyrule's perpetual 'spring'?
