I'll never understand why people keep making fan material of Tifa losing fights, and it irritates me quite a bit. Apparently being able to do wrestling moves on monsters the size buildings isn't enough to make people believe in you as a competent fighter.

I think it's probably the appeal of seeing another side to a girl. You see capable, poweful and competent girls get overpowered and weak like Tifa, Jill Valentine or pretty much any girl in a fighting games or badasses from anime likr Revy. In sort of the same way you see so many pure, innocent and loyal girls behave like sluts who sleep around or get stolen like Bianca or Belldandy.

It sort of subverts expectations of a given character but frankly misses the point and appeal of them not to mention it kinda oversaturates that niche and doesn't really paint the character or their fanbase in a very positive light.
