Can we please stop tagging Mai images as "Genderswap"? Yes, she was originally a guy, but since her transformation she has grown accustomed to her body, and has explicitely stated she does not want to revert back, and she identifies whole-heartedly as a woman. She is, by all accounts, 100% female.

That would apply, if this were reality. It's not. She's a fictional character in a fictitious setting in which there exists magic, and therefore the possibility for anything to happen. She's been transformed fully into a female, through and through. That, and the "genderswap" tag is pretty much redundant as that would apply to virtually all art of her, going by that logic.

@Anon5 The worst part is that at least 95% of her images here are tagged as "genderswap". Not only is it stupid because of the aformentioned reasons, but it's also misleading since people searching for said tag will think that she's currently a guy, which is incorrect. She is now a woman through and through.

Was Mai as a Male ever even a character in the manga? Didn't it start off with her already transformed? Yes she was originally a male, and this came into play with some early characterization, but strictly speaking she has been a girl for the entire run of the series. For that reason, isn't tagging all her art as genderswap kind of inaccurate?

@Anon8 I think we get to see a faint glimpse of her original self as a man during the first few pages of the manga, if I recall correctly, but "his" face isn't even show. It's clear she was thought of as a woman from the start, since her original self gets little to no screen time.
I stand by the idea that Mai is a woman and canonically will remain as one (if, by chance, CF's ending states otherwise), and thus the "genderswap" tags should be removed.
