Ahh, Kanon. My second Favorite Anime! I found all the Ladies in this show Cute, & Compelling!
If you want to introduce someone to the ~Slice of Life~ genere, I'd recommend ~Kanon~ first, then ~School Rumble~, ~Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions~, & ~Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun!~.
And if they can handle a little Fanservice, ~Nakaimo!~.

Those shows (while all varying levels of good, Kanon being great), are all weeb-y as hell. You're going to scare any non-anime fans away with that crap. Stuff like Karekano, Azumanga Daioh, Nichijou, and Usagi Drop would be better bets to lure filthy casuals into our dark world.
