Reminds me of how the short film Negadon: The Monster from Mars has the scientist who built the giant robot pilot it to fight the giant space monster. The director's reasoning was you always see young people driving the giant robot but wouldn't it make more sense to have the person who built the thing and knows all the ins and outs on how it works know how to best drive it. Its a valid argument but so is using a young person as they would have better hand eye coordination and reflexes. Even as early as age 25 speedrunners in the gaming community and competitive gaming tournaments start to slow down.
