See, the animation isn't suffering all that bad as people make it look by the promo trailer/s, Pokemon is just stepping up to the "over the top, cliche gimmick" expressions in Anime typical situations. Anger, Pain, Yelling to just name a few and the promos seemed to be filled to the brim with those so the reboot design was poorly received to the point where I saw a worst reboot design videos and Pokemon SuMo the Anime was #1 - but looking at this GIF here now, I for one am willing to give it a chance if it's not all the time looking like a kid's doodle board come to life like other bad reboots we had before {Teen Titans GO} plus we all grew up with the Games alongside the new Series tagging along.

I never had problems with the animation. It's the art that bugs me
The lack of shading makes it feel so two-dimensional, the over dramatizing expressions feel forced, and the poor quality of detail (most noticeable when characters are viewed in a distance) makes it feel the entire series was lazily made, like the company doesn't even care anymore
Don't even ask me how I feel about this whole "going to school story" direction or ash's new personality

You mean he's cheating on bayleef; All the same, he can't cheat if the poor sap never notices in the first place.
Interest in his female companions?! That's Ridick-Q-las!
Ash doesn't the humon female.
He doesn't a lot of things.
To be honest, I'm actually glad he's going to school.
It handles a question I've always asked, and maybe, just MAYBE, he'll learn that there is more mon than POKEmon.
Rather than the style or animation though, i'm leaving my mind open. I wonder how they will work this out, storywise. It interests me quite a bit that their trying something new pokemon-wise
